With plans to dock to the International Space Station at approximately 11:00 PM EST on Monday, November 15th, the SpaceX Crew Dragon Resilience will arrive in style, with NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, and Shannon Walker, plus JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi well prepared with custom tailored SpaceX space suits. The company broke new ground in design for space suits as well as the honorable mentions the company has received from the astronaut community regarding the suits. One of the great benefits of the suits is the innovative smart capabilities the suits have with the Dragon Resilience space craft.
Before reaching the ISS, the mission teams will pass through four Go/No Go points where readiness to proceed will be evaluated. While making their way on course, the team took the opportunity to give us here a tour of the Dragon Resilience as it drifts through outer space. During the tour JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi joked about random creatures such as Baby Yoda floating around the SpaceX spacecraft and how the refrigerator on board is used to store ice cream.
Upon arrival at the ISS, the team of four will increase the Station’s crew from three to seven. Crew Dragon will remain at the Station for six months.
