Tokyo 2020 Olympics USA Men’s Basketball Wins 4th Straight Gold Medal

The USA men’s basketball team celebrate their 4th straight gold medal win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. As the USA team faced off against France, Kevin Durant led Team USA to a 87-82 victory over their opponent. The game tipped off and Team USA waisted no time in their final game leading them to the Gold medal.

With The starting five of Team USA being Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, and Kevin Durant, Team France responded with Evan Fournier, Nando de Colo, Guerschon Yabusele, Nicolas Batum and Rudy Gobert. But by the finishing seconds of the first period USA were gaining momentum and Kevin Durant showed dominance throughout the entire first half of the game.

Kevin Durant and Team USA dominated a 97-78 win over Australia Wednesday night solidifying their place in tonights matchup against France. Tonights game was televised on NBC beginning at 7:30 pm MST with a 13 hours time difference between Utah and Tokyo, the Tokyo Olympics Men’s Basketball game starting at 11:00 am Tokyo time on Sunday, June 7th. On the final days of the Olympics, the USA Men’s Basketball team hopes to obtain the Gold medal as is expected.

2020 Olympic Men’s Basketball Final Half Time Update

Heading into the 3rd quarter USA leads France by 11 points at 56 to 45 with Kevin Durant leading in total points from a player with 21 points. As the 3rd quarter comes to a close, France closes the lead from 11 points to 9 points, but Team USA continues it’s charge towards the Gold Medal with no signs of loosing momentum. Both teams are currently battling it out for the Gold Medal as the 2020 TEAM USA Men’s Basketball team leads France 71-63 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. This is after leading 71-57 a few minutes earlier until France hit with 2 back to back 3’s late in the 3rd Quarter to cut into USA’s lead.


And with a quarter to go away from Gold, Jrue Holiday breaks away after a steal and hammering it down to show his dominance. With a little less than four minutes to go in the 4th quarter, France shrinks USA’s lead 79-72.
