And finally the long awaited drop of Ariana Grande’s cosmetic line R.E.M. Beauty has arrived. The collaborative effort from Ariana Grande and beauty incubator Forma Brands arrived last week and it is officially available for purchase as of Friday, November 12th.
Ariana Grande’s R.E.M. Beauty brand’s first drop. This is kind of big deal. It’s called “chapter 1: Ultraviolet” and it consists of 12 products, each product reflective of the spirit of the pop star. The drop includes highlighters, liquid eyeshadows, eyeliner pencils and markers, false lashes, a shadow palette, and lipsticks. Everything from the R.E.M. Beauty line is all vegan and cruelty-free.
Ariana Grande took the name of her beauty line from her song with the title “R.E.M.” from her Sweetener album. Ariana also took her time with the creation of R.E.M. Beauty and the perfection of the branding. Word on the socials is, she took over two years in developing R.E.M. Beauty and it’s first release Chapter 1: Ultraviolet. She also took the products on tour with her to test and was responsible for the naming of each products in the collection.
Pop icon Ariana Grande is following in the footsteps of celebrities who have invested heavily in the beauty industry and the distribution of their own makeup lines. Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty & Fenty Skin debuted in September of 2017 and has quickly become one of the leading companies in the cosmetic game. Other celebrity names tied to their own makeup line include Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, and most recently Harry Styles.
The REM Beauty Eyeshadow Palette might be the star of the collection. Shown above, it comes with a mix of six must-have mattes and shimmers with colors that range from espresso to a matte pink cream color called Sweetheart.
