Planning a trip to Utah and hiking through Zion National Park during the Summer months requires a little bit of preparation and please don’t forget to plan to hydrate with lots of water. In Utah, it can be important to think of the different layers of clothing to pack for unpredictable weather and the natural elements. The summer months can be extremely hot and dry. And temperatures can drop or change quickly depending on the forecast, but mostly plan for sunshine and heat during the Summer season, especially in the day time with the weather possibly cooling down at night.
You can start with the very light layers of tank tops, t-shirts, shorts and flip flops. But you would be a fool to stop there. Long sleeved light weighted shirts and jackets are recommended to protect you from the sun and proper hiking shoes are a must. A sweater or a heavier jacket layer is recommended and a pancho for when you get those surprise showers. Accessories such as hats, and sunglasses can also protect your eyes, face and head from the summer sun.
